A Note to You from Annie Meehan
Devastating storms have been cycling through our economy, healthcare system, businesses, and our homes and families the past three years, disrupting everything we once thought we could count on indefinitely. But the truth is, storms of this size weren’t just created overnight… no, many of us were born into a storm. I know I was. A storm of food insecurity, neglect, abuse, alcoholism, and homelessness.
Weathering the storms was initially about holding on for dear life with my eyes squeezed shut, but eventually something better, stronger, and more important blew through me. Conviction to overcome. Hope to not only restore but surpass all expectations. A renewed spirit with goals to achieve and fear to run circles around.
Sheltering in place for over 24 hours in hurricane Ian in late 2022, I was reminded once again of the tools I had built within myself to move past survival into a place of acceptance and even gratitude. A not-so-gentle reminder to “Be the Exception”. My vision and message has grown since to not only share my inspiration, stories, and of course, sense of humor with the world but to show others the way back to hope, success, and fulfillment.
When we are hopeful, we are happy. When we are happy, we are successful. And when we are successful, our team is too! So, take my hand. We’ll do more than just survive this storm. We will come out as leaders on the other end.
