Did you have a dad? Did you need a dad?
Are you a dad? Often I meet people who say dad’s don’t influence or matter as much as moms.
I disagree, even though I was raised by a single mom. I have a ton of friends today that had incredible dads, they were coached by them, loved by them, taught life lessons by them. The role of a father is so significant in a child’s life. Lets show honor and encouragement to all the great dads out there. Kids that grow up with 2 supportive parents grow up to be more confident and secure than those with only one parent. It is still possible to grow up and be successful with only 1 parent but it is harder. I want to encourage more woman to respect and speak in high regard for the fathers around us. Let’s focus on the good not the dead beat. Who do you know that is a kind, gentle, supportive father? Is it yours or the one you wish you had?
Do you ever wonder if someone really needs 2 parents? Needs a dad? I think the answer is YES, we can survive and grow up without them but we are more likely to find joy, to thrive and to have better understand about healthy relationships if we grow up with a supportive and understanding father. Are you a dad? What does it mean to you? Is that the most important role in your life?
If you don’t have an earthly dad you always have a Father in Heaven waiting to have a relationship with you when you are ready to seek to understand the lessons you can learn from your heavenly father. He can fill in the cracks for all the missing pieces that sometimes are left behind from a broken relationship with an earthly father.
