Stand Out or Fit In?
I was at a meeting the other day and a woman who was getting a little overwhelmed by the material we were covering said, “I just want to fit in.”
It took everything in me to not stand up and scream, “Please stop!” The group might have thought I was a bit goofy but they probably already do and I’m okay with that.
You see, I’ve spent way too many years of my life trying to fit in, to belong, to be like others. Today, I know I was created to stand out, NOT fit in. Yes, I still wish everyone liked me or at least all of my ideas but if they don’t, I’m still okay.
I have so many clients that just want to fit in, to be normal, to be liked. Sometimes in the process of getting other people’s approval, we lose sight of ourselves, our values, our beliefs, and our dreams.
You are wonderfully made as you! Be the best version of yourself you can and don’t try or want to be someone else. You are too good for that. You were not made to fit in; you were made to STAND OUT!
