Must Be Present To Win
Are you present in all areas of your life? Are you distracted? I suspect that you’ve heard that saying one too many times in your life. You may have even been one of those who left the room for a moment, or had to leave your conference a few minutes early, only to find out later that they called your name for the grand prize.
I think it’s important to be present, to set aside distractions and be in the moment, exactly where you are. You should take the time to feel your feet on the ground, have them trail through the grass, dig your toes in the sand on the beach, or feel them press against the rubber mat at the gym. Wherever you are, you should do your best to be there. Take time from the hustle and bustle of life, from the worrying about the past and the future, and allow yourself to be grounded in the space and time right in front of you. Savor today, enjoy the moment, and embrace the here and now.
It’s so easy to be distracted from the simple enjoyment of being present with our busy lives, technology, so on and so forth. I believe that we truly win when we exist in the moment and engage with the people right in front of us. We can’t change yesterday, and there’s no point in worrying about tomorrow. It’s the here and now that matters the most. How will you be grounded and present today?
