Ringing In The Second half of 2019
How did you ring in the new year? I’ve always loved Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve because they feel like days of reflection. I believe they present great opportunities to look back while also looking forward to what’s next.
This year I was blessed to be with my whole family counting down the start of the new year. In preparation we created vision boards, made life maps, and completed goal setting, but my favorite part was when we looked back at 2018 together. Though it had some challenges, we focused on and celebrated our top 10 favorite days, activities, vacations, and other moments that we shared or celebrated throughout 2018. We ate good food, played fun games, laughed, and loved.
As we rang in the new year with great expectations for what might come to all of us in 2019, my son Matthew reminded me about when he was young and I would say, “Have high hopes and low expectations. That way you’ll always believe the good in people and situations without setting yourself up to be disappointed.”
As you continue moving forward into the the second half I encourage you to stay motivated. Make your own vision board, create a 2019 life map, join the Unplug to Recharge Retreat on September 14, or start your own goals journal. Set yourself up for a success by focusing on YOU!
