The D in the ABC’s to Success stands for decisions. When we’re setting a goal we have to decide to stay committed, despite any challenges we may face.
For example, I signed up for a challenge in which I was going to ride my bike 500 miles over a period of time. I had only ridden four miles in my life when I signed up to ride the 500 miles, but that wasn’t the only difficulty I faced. I had a friend that talked me into signing up and then she quit on me. Furthermore, two weeks before the challenge was to begin somebody stole my bike.
I could have quit, and some may say it just wasn’t meant to be. However, I made a decision and committed to something, so that is what I intended to do. We must stand by our decisions and commitments, even when obstacles try to get in our way.
We choose to show people we have decided to be committed, so we can celebrate that we stayed consistent, and we achieved what we set out to do, even if many obstacles came our way.
This week, I would simply like to encourage you to stand by your decisions and stay committed.
What does living your exceptional life look like to you?
Where are you committed but not consistent?
What have you started, but never finished?
