Get an X-Ray of Your Truth
Sometimes what’s blocking your success isn’t on the outside — it’s what’s going on beneath the surface.
I believe an X-ray is about what your truth is. It’s about looking on the inside. You see, sometimes people show up and they’re fake or passive aggressive.
When I meet people, and they’re trying to sell something they don’t believe in, I can feel that. I can sense it. If they’re trying to sell themselves and they don’t even believe in themselves, I get that gut feeling. Do you?
The X-ray is about knowing your truth—what you believe in, what you stand by—and then going out and selling that. I love to sell hope because I believe in hope in all circumstances—the challenging ones, the interesting ones, the overwhelming ones. I still believe there’s hope. Even if you’ve had a lot of no’s, I know there’s still a yes out there for you.
When was the last time you paused long enough to check in with your own truth before saying “yes” to something?
An X-ray is about looking inside and asking yourself: Do I love this company? Do I love this work, this product, this service? If I love it, it’ll be so much easier to sell. Look inside and ask yourself the hard questions because if you’re just getting up every morning and going through the grind, and you don’t like or believe in what you’re doing, it just gets harder. So many people get sick on Sunday nights because they don’t believe in what they’re doing.
What parts of your current work light you up—and what parts drain your energy the moment you think about them?
Ask yourself, “What can I do that can pay the bills that I really believe in and can sleep well about?” Maybe you’ll make less money, but maybe you’ll find more joy. Isn’t happiness more important than a big paycheck? Do what works for you. Be honest with yourself about who you are, what you teach, and what you love. You don’t have to shout it from the rooftops, but at least know it for yourself.
If you could design your life around what you truly believe in, what would it look like—and what’s one small step you could take toward that today?
So, examine yourself and get an X-ray vision of your truth, then go out and be successful in sustaining your business.
