We can’t control the weather or the Yes’s and no’s we receive. We cant often control how our day plays out. In fact when we really think about it we can’t control much but we can always control out attitude and we can choose to be and stay positive in the challenging moments of our day and our life. My Monday encouragement for today is to live each day by Choice not by Chance or by Circumstance. Will you choose to stay positive today in all circumstances? Faith is not just something you land on, it is a journey. It is believing when you can’t see. It is finding Peace when it doesn’t make sense to anyone else. It is a knowing that can not be explained with words but rather with feelings. It is believing in something bigger then yourself and trusting that God will never give up on you and will guide you out of the darkness when you feel lost and alone.
Join me in June at the MS150 for the ride of a lifetime! I’m looking for at least ten teammates to join me. I’m sure you could find hundreds of reasons not to join me but I’m excited to do this together! You may say to yourself “I’m scared,” “I’m not ready” or “I don’t own a bike” but my questions to you are: Can you walk? Do you wake up healthy most days? If your answer is “yes,” you can do it!
I know life is busy, I feel that too, however, this is an incredible goal to pursue and I welcome you to experience the thrill by riding from Duluth to St. Paul. When we’re on the road we ride five to ten miles at a time and then break for snacks before picking up the challenge again. Now, you might be thinking, “I’m too out of shape, I couldn’t ride that far” but I’m here to tell you yes you can! With encouragement from your team, and the cheers you’ll receive from the side of the path from those who can no longer walk due to MS, I’m confident you’ll find the strength to pedal on.
In everyday life we have the opportunity to make a positive impact in someone else’s life. I’m inviting you to join me on this year’s journey to step outside of your comfort zone and do something daring to support another life! Too often we play it safe. This year I want us to set aside excuses and play big together!
Team training begins in April and requires very little fundraising. What’s stopping you? Click here to join my team today. I can’t wait to celebrate life along this journey with you!

Life is filled with wonderful moments and memories. Unfortunately, many of the wonderful moments in life have an aspect of bitterness to them as well. Sometimes, it’s because life is moving too fast and other times, it’s because we must navigate struggle before we can see the silver lining.
Over time I’ve been working to focus, slow down, and enjoy the moments. I remember each senior year with my kids, I would find myself a little sad and reflective at how fast time had passed. Soon, they would all be moving off to college. Though I was excited for each of them to start the next chapter in life, it was bittersweet. Life changes once our kids move out, with more time between visits and less time with everyone gathered in one place as a family.
Recently, something truly beautiful happened; I had all three kids at home together. Matthew and his girlfriend were cooking while the rest of us joined them in the kitchen to hangout, visit, and eat. The best part? The kids even cleaned it up! In that moment so many memories flashed through my mind. Some were wonderful while others were challenging, but overall, I feel this stage in life is fabulous.
Each stage in life has many chapters. Though some are good, some are bad, and some are even ugly, all stages serve a purpose and move us to the next chapter. The next time you’re feeling bittersweet, I encourage you to stay present in the moment and take a mental snapshot for life.
