Am I starting to embrace this and even like it? I have learned a lot over the years, but my recent trip to Europe taught me that I like being alone. In fact, I almost crave it. I love peace and quiet. I like to get up early and take a walk on the beach. I would rather take a nap in the afternoon when everyone else comes out to play. I love to read for hours uninterrupted. I love to eat a big breakfast and a small dinner at 4:30. I love to laugh about nothing and I miss my girlfriends if I don’t get enough of that time.
Writing can be fun, I don’t have to have people agree with me to know it is right for me. I don’t care for politics and my faith never wavers. Being me is ok and I don’t need to fit in. For so many years I cared so much about what others thought and wanted to be more like them. But now, I like me and I don’t need to change to get people to like me. I’m okay if you don’t agree with or even like me, I was not born to fit in and neither were you. We were born to stand up and stand out for something!
Some say I am ready for a retirement home, I love bingo, bowling, Bridge & early to bed. When I speak I like to share that I am only 28 but most know I have kids that are 17,21 and 27 so It is getting hard to convenience anyone including myself. As a friend said the other day if you have cancer you feel grateful each day you get to get one day older. So today I will embrace my age, my wrinkles and maybe even my grey…Do I have Grey?
Hope you had a lovely day and are enjoying each day that you grow a little older or maybe just a little wiser!
