Love doesn’t only have to come once a year! Give Love!
Love
Oh, how I love the love: love letters, romantic movies, falling in love, staying in love, brotherly love, and the friendship of deep love.
Don’t you just love the love? On Valentine’s Day I think more people are aware of loneliness than love and it always makes me feel a little sad. All of us make comparisons at times, but it seems on Valentine’s Day many focus more on what’s lacking for them rather than focusing on what they have. Even if they’re in love, someone else’s love looks more fun, more romantic, or more exciting. If they’re single, they focus on disliking Valentine’s Day and feeling bad about what’s missing in their lives.
Today I challenge you to get out of your comfort zone and share some love, because everyone can use a little more. My challenge to get you out of your comfort zone is this: share ten Valentines before you go to bed tonight. I’d love to see you make homemade cards or gifts, but you can be creative and do whatever works. While you’re out, hand them to people walking down the street, leave them at someone’s door anonymously, surprise attendees at your next networking event and share a treat there, or buy ten gift cards at the local coffee shop and hand them out as customers come in.
Can you imagine all that could change in a day if we chose to intentionally share love, see people, and make them feel special? If you can’t think of anyone, my inbox is always open. I love receiving love notes. I keep them all and re-read them to motivate me on my long days and weeks.
This Valentine’s Day, share the love with a stranger and make their day! If each of the 4,000 subscribers on my list shared a little extra love this month, we might change the world. Please join me in spreading the love!
Who did you share love with? How did you spread a little love in the world today?
What is your favorite Valentine’s gift?
What is your favorite way to be loved? Is it through touch, conversation, quality time, acts of service, gifts, or words of affirmation?
