Will you believe in the good in the midst of the unknown?
Do You Believe?
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve believed in Santa Claus. I remember people making fun of me growing up because I was so determined that Santa was real, and though I was made fun of, I still felt bad for those kids because they didn’t believe. I have always loved the wonder, magic, mystery, and spirit of Christmas.
As a little girl, we went to Midnight Mass, (at 10pm), and would come home to gifts outside of our garage which proved to me there was truly a Santa. Then, in my early 20’s as a single mom, I had six bags of groceries with a $20 bill in each bag just appear one year and during another year, I received an anonymous envelope filled with money. After these miracles year over year, please don’t try to tell me there’s no such thing as Santa. He is real, and I’m so sorry if you don’t know him or you’ve chosen not to become him for someone else.
During this time of the year, I love the movies Miracle on 34th Street and Elf. Both movies are filled with the wonder, magic, mystery, and spirit of Christmas which are dear to my heart. Through my love for Christmas, I haven’t forgotten that it’s the date many of us remember and celebrate as Jesus’ Birth but to me, the spirit of Christmas is about so many more things.
If you really tune in, this season invites us to slow down rather than hustle and bustle. As you’re out and about, don’t forget to take in the beauty of the Christmas lights and decorations (which I believe should be up from November through March). Take the time to enjoy listening and singing along with all the Christmas songs, and more than anything else, embody the generous spirit of Christmas and let it shine upon everyone you see.
To me, it’s in the spirit of love that we give to friends, family, strangers, charity, and anonymously. Those of us who give choose to do so because it spreads joy and love to those close and far. No matter who you are or why you give, you can believe. Each of us can be the spirit of Christ, Santa, or Christmas with all in our lives; even if it’s with those who are different and don’t celebrate the holiday season the same as you.
For many, this season is about family and traditions while some others have no family or traditions. This week I encourage you to help yourself and others keep believing by spreading love and joy to someone in your life who could use a reminder of what the Christmas spirit is all about! What can you do to be that person’s Secret Santa and brighten their holiday?
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a happy holiday season! What does living your exceptional life look like to you?

Are you living like your body will last till 106?
Living Until 106
How old do you plan to live? I say 106 when anyone asks, but it’s more of a reminder to myself than anything else. I believe part of living a long life is shifting your thinking and daily routines to positive planning. This may start as simply as reminding yourself how long you want to live then moving into creating better habits such as quitting smoking, drinking less alcohol, visiting the gym more often, or eating a few more veggies each week.
So often it’s common for us to take our bodies for granted. Many times, we use and abuse them and waste money on junk in the process rather than investing in the good stuff that helps our bodies maintain optimal health. I don’t always eat healthily, but I do my best to eat well, take my AdvoCare Supplements daily, and move my body for at least twenty minutes of continuous exercise three days a week, sometimes more.
It’s helpful to have someone who is farther in their wellness journey to look up to. My husband is faithful in his commitment to his AdvoCare Routine and never misses a day, even on vacation. Since my husband takes great care of himself, he can run a 5K any day of the week, takes aftercare of his workouts seriously, and doesn’t take his health or strength for granted. His dedication and motivation to his wellbeing inspire me to keep working toward being the healthiest me I can be.
While there are some things about our health that we can’t control, there are even more things about it that we can. Each day we can choose what we eat, how we move our bodies, and what healthy supplements we want to use. If your goal is to live a long life, it’s only going to be fun if it’s a healthy life as well. This week, I encourage you to choose one factor of your health (whether it be food, exercise, or supplement focused) and make a goal to engage in that healthy behavior three times this week. It’s time for us to gain and maintain our health together – see you at 106!
